“HOISTING THE DOMINICAN FLAG IN THE CITY OF WHITE PLAINS”
Celebrating the 166th Anniversary of the Independence of the Dominican Republic
On Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 6:30pm, the non-profit community based organization UNIDOM will raise the Dominican flag in the City of White Plains, NY. This event will take place at the intersection of Main Street and Court Street.
This is the second year that UNIDOM (United Dominicans of Hudson Valley) will raise the Dominican Flag in White Plains in the presence of its’ members, friends, supporters and the community. This symbolic event is proudly conducted to commemorate the 166th Anniversary of the Independence of the Dominican Republic.
UNIDOM is a community based non-profit organization whose mission consists of maintaining traditions, civic and cultural values. UNIDOM seeks to serve as role models to project our best image of integrity, respect and service. We strive to share our culture via events that illustrate our essence as a hard working community. We will work to foster our cultural values to current and future generations while encouraging youngsters to become leaders in the community.
Mr. Leonardo Espinal, president of UNIDOM states, “As a Dominican residing in White Plains, it is very nice to see our community come together and support such an important event. I'm counting on all of you to spread the word and make this event a tradition in our town.”
To complete the celebration, the community is invited to join UNIDOM for an after party at CABO’s Restaurant located at 107 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains, NY from 8:00pm to 12:00am. The after party cost is $45 per person which will include a DJ, Appetizers and Open Bar.
